Traveling

Hello my wonderful readers. my journey down here in Chile is coming to an end. I finished my internship this past Thursday and my brother arrived Friday. I am having fun showing him around. My dad arrived Saturday and will be spending the weekend with us - Monday he has some business to take care of here in Santiago and some coworkers will be meeting him down here.

Tuesday my brother and I will be heading to Argentina. He hasn't been back to Buenos Aires since we moved away ten years ago or so. It'll be fun to visit our old hang out spots, see our old house and school. From there we'll head up to Iguazu Falls. If you haven't heard of
Iguazu Falls take a second and look it up on Wikipedia.com. It's one of the largest water falls in the world. We went there when we were kids and I am truly looking forward to getting back to photograph the beauty. It's located in the middle of the jungle and I am hoping to photograph some toucans as well as monkeys..

After spending about four days there we'll head back to Buenos Aires and then the next day return to Santiago. My brother flies home August 8th..

But that isn't going to be the end of my adventures as I will head up to the north of Chile August 9th to visit the driest desert in the world and also some huge volcanoes. I'll fly into
Arica, visit some national parks, hopefully photograph some surfing. I'll visit Iquique, which also has some good beaches and tons of surfing. From there I'll go to San Pedro de Atacama. I hope to see flamingos there as well as photograph some great scenery. I return to Santiago August 16 and then fly home August 17. .

I arrive in Sacramento August 18th when Amy will meet me and we'll visit my family and drive back to Utah to start school August 22..

So I am off to have some wonderful adventures. I wish I can take you along with me all along the way, but I won't be able to edit my pictures until I get back ... I hope to get a few of my best pictures posted after my brother leaves August 8th and then later when I get back to Sacramento August 18th. .

I just thought you'd all like to know what I am up to instead of wondering where I am.

On a different note, my brother brought me down a new camera. I was previously using the
Canon PowerShot S3 IS, and he brought me down the next model - Canon PowerShot S5 IS. It's a great camera with some wonderful upgrades. One of the biggest upgrades that I was really excited about is the hot shoe, which allows you to attach an external flash. I am borrowing an external flash from a friend for the time being and I am really excited to use it. I haven't ever used a flash before because of the hard lighting it gives, but I really feel that with the flash I am going to be able to overcomes my fears of the dark..

Please take care of yourselves and watch out for some spectacular pictures to come.

Never know

In life don't fear of the unknown, because you'll never know till you try, and it's the falls that allow you to grow.

This past weekend I went to Vina del Mar and had a few relaxing days searching for surfers and body boarders to photograph. I'll try to post more this week. I think I got a little burnt out with all of my blogs last week, haha!

As we pulled up the gas station to wash off the mud the guys were shaking their head and at first told us we couldn't wash it there. But they lightened up and allowed us to was it down - there was a lot of mud on the car - haha - but we left it all for them to clean up afterwards.

Let me know what you think.

4x4 - Alejandro

One thing I really love about off roading is how the wheels and axles move - this guy was fun to watch.

4x4 - Roland

Well with this set I come to an end of my four wheeling trip on Monday. I might go this next weekend, but it still isn't confirmed. These pictures here are of Roland, who has been four wheeling for a long time and is well experienced. Take a look.
