La Casa Moneda - Santiago, Chile

I feel good. I feel happy. I feel at peace. I am in Santiago, Chile. It's night time, as I walk home I greet other people on the street saying "Buenas noches!" I love traveling and I love getting to know this wonderful world in which we live in. I am constantly amazed and delighted with the memories that I am creating down here.

I hopped on the metro after work today and headed downtown. The sun had already gone down so I brought my tripod to take some night shots. I got off at the La Moneda stop which is located near La Casa de Moneda, which is Chile's Federal Reserve.

As I tried to capture the immense beauty of this building I noticed people that stood out to me - people who weren't in such a hurry as others, that waited patiently for their bus or sat and talked. It is too often that we just run around and don't take time to enjoy the beauty around us - life itself - a gift that God has given us.

As I left the Casa de Moneda I found a walking street – no cars just pedestrians. It reminded me of being in Buenos Aires. The street was packed, people were in a rush. There were performs in the street working the crowds trying to make some money. As I slowly walked down the street I enjoyed the atmosphere and stopped a few times to watch these performers. At the end of the street I came to a huge political/cultural gathering. It was interesting to hear their point of view – they wanted more of a democratic government with leftist leaders. They had a few bands playing, which were really enjoyable.

The rally took place in a huge park which also had people who could read your future and people who also sold their art.

I left after watching this man paint this and leisurely made my way back to the metro. It was packed; everyone was going home after a days work and as I stepped onto the metro I had to fight for standing room. It was hot, but as we moved a nice breeze entered. I looked down at the man in front of me that had his eyes closed enjoying the moment of relief from the heat. I looked to the back of the metro and watched it snake its way through the tunnel. I feel good.

I got off the metro and I stopped for a moment to capture the moment, making sure not to let it pass me by. As I walked home a bird pooped on me, but I didn't let me ruin the good time I had. This was a special night, a night to be repeated. A night that has made me feel good, happy and at peace.

Let me know what you think of my pictures and if you have a favorite. I'm excited to hear what you what you have to say about these pictures and my night.
