Family Reunion: Intro

Saturday I went with Amy's family to the annual family reunion which is held on their land in Teasdale near Capitol Reef National Park. Sherry (my mother in law) had been talking about the reunion and Capitol Reef for sometime and really wanted me to go so that I could get them some photographs of the area.

Sherry and Dave picked me up in Orem Wednesday and we took the trailer down to Nephi and spent the night in a mobile home park. It was a different "camping experience" than I am use to because growing up camping meant a tent and with the Smith camping is the mobile home. It was a good experience. Thursday morning as we were getting things ready to leave the campsite in Nephi I saw some hummingbirds and followed one of them back to their nest and got these photos.

I recently picked up the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 lens with the Extender 2x which turned the zoom into 400mm, so this was the first time I used the two together and I was happy with how they turned out and excited to use it again.

When we finally got to the camp we said our hellos to the other families that had already arrived and then continued on to Capitol Reef.
