Yesterday the Athletics Department held it's Annual Wolverine Scream Auction, which raises money for scholarships for the Athletes. I've never been to an auction before so I didn't know what to expect.
1
The silent auction was first where every in attendance walked around the various tables and bid on the items that had been donated for the event.

3
The Wolverine Scream is one way people can support the effort to contribute financially to student-athlete scholarships and still have something to show for it, not to mention a great meal provided by Carrabba’s, P.F. Changs, Tucanos, and UVU Dining Services, in the process.

5
The student athletes were the ones manning the tables doing a fabulous job showing off the merchandise.
6
Each table had a sponsor which was decorated to advertise their organization or team in this case.
7
I was accompanied by my lovely wife Amy - this auction was her first as well.
8
To get the audience started entry forms were collected to participate in the heads or tails competition.
9
This was played by everyone choosing either heads or tails by placing their hands on their head or their ... well ... tail or rear. :)
10
The live auction was a man that does this for a living and it was really fun listening to him speak and get the audience envolved.
11
I placed this last picture because the man shown here raised his hand after offering the winning bid and withdrew it when he realized that he was going to win the item. I really couldn't believe that he raised his hand. The auctioneer went over and tried to get him back in the bidding war, but apparently he wasn't really there to bid after all.
12
This car was one of the items auctioned off at the event. I am not sure if anyone put down the money for the car or not, because I left a few minutes early. I sure wouldn't mind driving that as a student.
Well, this was my first auction, have you ever been to an auction? Leave me a comment and let me know your experiences with auctions or just let me know what you think of my pictures.
